Vietnamese Electric Car Company VinFast Promises $7,500 For Preorders, Regardless Of Tax Credit Rebate

VinFast, the first Vietnamese automaker to enter the American marketplace, is promising a $7,500 rebate to customers who preorder one of its VF 8 or VF 9 electric SUVs. Both models are expected to arrive by the end of 2022.

The automaker is making the promise as Congress is in the midst of updating its current electric vehicle tax credit implementation. Customers can formally obtain the $7,500 rebate by signing a binding purchase contract with VinFast, and through release of their formerly-refundable $200 preorder deposit.

Taken from the VinFast website…

“VinFast is a brand that not only stands behind our vehicles with our 10-year/125,000-mile warranty but more importantly, we stand behind our customers! For customers who apply for the $7,500 tax credit under current IRC 30D requirements and are denied by the IRS for reasons not attributable to the customer, VinFast will provide the customer a $7,500 purchase price rebate (or similar rebate) on their VinFast vehicle purchase. The binding agreement contains additional details on eligibility for the rebate.”
