Stars have spearheaded blockbuster movies, written chart-topping songs, captivated us on catwalks, and racked up millions of followers on social media.
But even more impressively, many have also become entrepreneurs by launching their very own fashion, beauty and lifestyle companies.
And while it’d be easy to dismiss some of these projects as simple cash grabs, plenty of passionate stars have actually pivoted away from the entertainment projects that made them famous in favor of running their businesses.
- Kim Kardashian: Skims, KKW Beauty, KKW Fragrance
If you’ve been “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” you know that middle sister Kim has launched multiple fashion and beauty brands in recent years. In addition to her shapewear and loungewear line, Skims — which we tried and loved — she also oversees KKW Fragrance and KKW Beauty, the latter of which she’s currently working on rebranding.
- Rihanna: Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin, Savage X Fenty
Rihanna is surely the “Only Girl in the World” who could juggle this many ventures. She launched Fenty Beauty in 2017 with an impressive range of formulas and foundation shades and followed it up with Fenty Skin in 2020.
And then there’s her size-inclusive lingerie line, Savage X Fenty, which expanded in 2022 to include brick-and-mortar stores. Clearly, the Bad Gal’s got serious business skills.
- Kelly Clarkson: Kelly Clarkson Home
Did you know the original “American Idol” winner’s got a flair for furniture design? Kelly Clarkson Home is available to shop at Wayfair and offers elegant, timeless pieces with a dash of contemporary charm.
- Reese Witherspoon: Draper James
Whether she’s wearing head-to-toe pink as “Legally Blonde” heroine Elle Woods or recommending great reads, Reese Witherspoon’s got major range.
She also owns Draper James, a classic preppy-inspired clothing brand that’s steeped in Southern style. Launched in 2015, the brand is named after her grandmother, Dorothea Draper, and her grandfather, William James Witherspoon.
From dresses in fun prints to shirts for work or lounging, there’s something for everyone in this collection.
- Jessica Alba: The Honest Company
Alba launched The Honest Company back in 2011 with a focus on safe and effective baby products ranging from diaper subscriptions to wet wipes.
These days, you’ll also find plenty of beauty, skincare, and bath and body items — think cream blushes, hyaluronic acid serums, and much more — all shoppable at Ulta Beauty.
- Dr. Dre: Beats by Dre
As the brand name suggests, Beats by Dre was founded by “The One and Only.” The artist launched his line of audio products in 2008, with a mission to help music lovers “hear what the artists hear.” Now, his high-quality headphones are a much-purchased gift that just keeps on giving.
- Drew Barrymore: Flower Beauty, Flower Home
Fans of the Hollywood sweetheart’s eclectic style are sure to fall for her Flower Beauty and Flower Home brands, the latter available to shop at Walmart.
- Kate Hudson: Fabletics
The “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” actress’ personalized fitness apparel brand is designed for everybody — and everybody.
Fabletics offers activewear for both men and women, with a slew of leggings, bras, shorts, and cold-weather essentials to get you moving and grooving in style. The brand launched in 2013, amid the athleisure boom led by Lululemon and others.
